Household List Privacy Policy

Effective [date] · Applies to the Household List app for iPhone and Android

The short version

Household List is made by [legal name of TwinStack] (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app stores, why, who can see it, and how to delete it.

What we store

DataWhy
A random account IDCreated automatically when you first open the app, so it can keep you in your household. It isn’t linked to your name, email or phone number.
Your profileThe display name and color you choose, and when you joined. Shown to the people in your household.
Your householdIts name, invite code, number of members and whether it’s unlocked.
The grocery listItem names and notes, who added each item and when, and who last bought it, when, how many times it has been bought and how often it’s usually bought, and whether it’s set to repeat. The app works out how often each item is bought on your phone, to suggest items that are running low. Items you remove from the list are remembered so the app can suggest your usual groceries and show when they were last bought.
ChoresChore names, how often they repeat, the order people take turns, and a history of who marked each chore done or skipped it, and when.
Purchase recordIf someone buys the household unlock: which household it unlocked and whether it was bought on iPhone or Android. Payment is handled by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details.
Technical dataOur service providers process technical information needed to run the service and prevent abuse, such as your IP address, device type, operating system and app version, language and currency. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. The purchases service may also record whether your device allows app tracking; we never ask for that permission and do not track you.

What we don’t collect

We don’t collect your email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos, advertising identifiers or browsing activity. The app contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting tools, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.

Who can see your data

We don’t sell your data, and we only disclose it if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

Deleting your data

In the app, open the Household tab and tap Delete my data. This deletes your profile, your account ID, your purchase record and your record with our purchases provider straight away, and removes you from your household. If you were the last member, the whole household is deleted too. Details, and how to ask us if you no longer have the app: Delete your Household List data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. Most of this you can do in the app. For anything else, contact us at support@twinstackapps.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

We process your data to provide the app you asked for (performing our contract with you) and, for abuse prevention and logs, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the service working and secure.

Children

Household List is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and stored by Google with encryption at rest. Access rules on our database let only the members of a household read or change its data.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
